Care Guide
Your kimono is made to last.
A little care goes a long way.
—
Washing
Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle.
A mesh laundry bag will help protect the fabric and printed details.
If you prefer, hand wash in cold water
with a gentle, natural detergent.
Press the water out gently — do not wring.
—
Drying
Lay flat or hang to dry in the shade.
Direct sunlight may fade the hand block-printed details over time.
Do not tumble dry.
—
Ironing
Linen-cotton and muslin pieces have a natural crinkle texture
— they are not meant to be ironed.
That texture is part of their character.
For bamboo pieces, a low-heat iron on the reverse side
is fine if needed.
—
Storage
Store folded or hung in a cool, dry place.
Natural fibers breathe — avoid plastic bags or airtight containers.
—
Over time
Natural fibers soften with each wash.
Hand block-printed motifs develop a gentle patina.
This is not wear — it is the piece becoming yours.
Zerla kimonos are designed to be worn for years.
Treat them accordingly.
